Brolga Tourism Award winners

Winners of the 26th Brolga Northern Territory Tourism Awards  were announced on Saturday night in Darwin.

Among those celebrating their  success were Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, Venture North Australia, Darwin Convention Centre, Daly Waters Historic Pub.

The inaugural George Dunne Award for Outstanding Contribution by an Individual was won by Pauline Rayner.  A full list of winners is here.

Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards celebrate 40 years of excellence

Over 800 guests gathered at Crown Perth to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Perth Airport Western Australian Tourism Awards, Awards that recognise tourism excellence and reflect the passion and professionalism of tourism operators in Western Australia.

Tourism Council WA CEO Evan Hall said “the Awards have a tremendous history and forty years on they remain the most prominent in the tourism industry.”

The evening saw winners and medallists awarded in 31 categories, ending with the presentation of the Sir David Brand Award for Tourism to Challenger Institute of Technology, School of Hospitality & Tourism. This Award, chosen from the 2012 gold medallists, recognises an outstanding achievement by an organisation in promoting or servicing the WA tourism industry.

Margaret Wilson, who has had a long and distinguished association with tourism in Western Australia, was awarded the Sir David Brand medal for Outstanding Contribution by an Individual.

Tasmanian Tourism Awards winners announced

Winners of the Tasmanian Tourism Awards were announced on Friday night in Hobart with east coast tourism operators winning 10 categories.

Tourism Industry Council Tasmania CEO Luke Martin said “with 19 of the 25 categories won by tourism experiences outside Hobart, the awards were an important reminder of the exceptional tourism experiences found in regional Tasmania.”

“This is a stunning result for the East Coast that will have flow on benefits for the whole region, as tonight’s winners will go on to represent Tasmania at next February’s national Tourism Awards to be held in Hobart, putting the East Coast up in lights on the national stage.”

State and Territory Awards winners announced this month

November is the exciting month the State and Territory Tourism Awards winners are announced at their prestigious gala events. Winners from these events wil go one to be national finalists at the Australian Tourism Awards being held on 15th February 2013 in Hobart.

10th November- Western Australia

17th November- Northern Territory

19th November- Victoria

22nd November-New South Wales

23rd November- South Australia, Queensland and ACT
