Australian Tourism Industry Council
In early 2016 the Board of National Tourism Alliance (NTA) agreed to take appropriate steps to transfer the ownership of the Australian Tourism Awards to the Australian Tourism Industry Council. This process was finalised in August 2016.
ATIC is the national representative body for the state/territory tourism industry councils whose collective, through their members, represents tourism regions, industry associations and businesses throughout Australia.
The role of ATIC is to provide leadership and industry representation through a national voice for tourism, and to manage national industry development through a quality tourism framework. The current quality tourism framework consists of two industry development programs that ATIC owns and manages – the Australian Tourism Accreditation Program and Australian Tourism Awards
